Hello! Welcome to Karri Chronicles!
I'm Karri. I'm a wife, mother, children's book author, writer, and reading & writing advocate. I collect and review books and am a literacy volunteer at my daughter's school. I love stories-writing, reading, and sharing them. We make valuable connections through storytelling, and the world needs more share & tell (and reading/listening) in safe spaces. Encouraging kids and adults to tap into their imagination to create, learn, build and help others is my mission and a world of more humans feeling empowered to do good (in big and small ways) is my vision.
The pandemic challenged all of us. But as time went on, our family chose to practice gratitude for this extra time together. As a result, we rediscovered our creativity and became empowered to make memories we would never have otherwise. This time inspired and prompted me to live out a 20-year dream of publishing my first children's book, "Little Miss Jean and the Time Machine."
The story's premise came to me many years ago after losing my mom to cancer and becoming a mother myself, all in a few months. These pivotal life events taught me how precious TIME is and how pure love between people transcends our earthly existence. The purpose of this story is to share that amazing truth and empower kids to rely on their imagination to create, build, learn and help others. My mom taught me these lessons, and I strive to pass them on to my daughters.
It's a story of challenge, faith, love of family, creating joy from within, and the power of anticipation and imagination. My second book, "She Dared to Be: The Legacy of Phillipa Maxine" was also just recently published and is a story of being bold, brave, and true to yourself. It is inspired by my late grandmother, and is a "Little Miss Jean" origin story.
Feel free to browse this site and discover more about why I want to spread this message, find other great book recommendations, and stay updated on upcoming publications & books! In addition, I'm available for school or church visits and local events, so please get in touch with me if you are interested in having me do a Storytime presentation!

“Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called.”
